Theme: Core Four
Young Justice (1998) was an absolute favorite comic of mine as a teenager. I’m planning to re-read it soon so here’s some fic recs featuring platonic core four and their relationships! Arranged in order of wordcount.
The core four have nightmares. I really love the atmosphere of this fic, there’s something almost nostalgic about it. I really enjoy the care and quiet comfort they all share. This is a wonderful and slightly bittersweet fic.
Bernard figures out his boyfriend’s a superhero. This isn’t quite as core four-centric as the other recs on this list but I really enjoy them here! Bernard is fun and I really enjoyed his interactions with everyone! Bart is a delight and Kon is pining. There’s some genuinely funny moments and I love how excited everyone is to meet Tim’s boyfriend.
The Kryptonite ring in the Batcave has gone missing. I love some teenager shenanigans, especially with these characters! I really enjoyed the parallel storylines as the bats investigate the nefarious plot while the young justice crew remains oblivious. The joy and energy of the ear piercing squad is infectious! The whole fic is a fun time!
